Andrew M. Gaines

In Sanskrit, Rasa means “juice” or “flavor,” describing the sensuous exchange of essential emotions between performers and spectators, as revealed in the ancient Indian instruction manual for music/dance/theatre, the Natyasastra.

Andrew will guide us into his adaptation of RasaBoxes, a portal for playful connection, profound insight, and divine expansion. Embrace this unique challenge to increase your physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual capacities through a fusion of drama therapy, Jungian psychology, and an actor training method developed by pioneering experimental theatre artist, Richard Schechner.

After a physical warm up, you will jump onto a life-sized game board containing universal roles of both gold and shadow. We’ll traverse a process of activating, modulating, and mixing emotions to create symbols, movements, personas, and stories. Our journey will teach us how to harness the energy of these roles for strength, resume control when we slip into their unconscious patterns, and integrate their wisdom into our lives.

The experience will conclude with a cool-down, and a facilitated reflection by Andrew.

Be sure to wear loose, comfortable clothing for this active experience.
